When I was in Sirao, I learned a great bit about the different vegetables and fruit that are grown in this region of the Philippines. The main vegetable garden I planted was in a big rice paddy with plenty of room to spread out and grow. It was planted in a spot next to a water source. I had left the choice of soil up to the local gardeners. They knew it would be a handy spot for my vegetable garden. I later learned that Sirao is a dry, warm and fairly dry climate.
I placed the rice paddy in a very sunny area, so the plant would get the most sun possible. Then I dug an irrigation hole under the root ball and inserted a plastic straw to allow some humidity to be created. I let the plant water penetrate through and evaporate slowly as it worked its way down. Once the plant was almost fully saturated, I placed a piece of metal fishing wire, about six inches outside the area I placed the paddy in. This would help to keep the plant from drying out too much.
As it rained, the plant absorbed some of the water, keeping its root balls moist. Then I put some coconut oil on the young seedlings to protect them from the high temperatures. The coconut oil worked wonders on the flower garden. I sprayed it on the flowerbed area, and they flourished. They even grew to a full size before they dried out a bit.
Soon after, I discovered another plant that I really enjoyed. A plant known as the pansies grew up next to my rice paddy. I loved watching the flower garden develop and bloom each season. The flowers were a vibrant green and every few weeks there were new sprouts. The area became rather well known around where I live.
The hardest part of maintaining a Sirao flower garden is watering. Watering is extremely hard to do, especially if you live in a dry area. I had to use hoses and many buckets. When the area was dry, I still watered but not as much, because it was nearly impossible to do without water. When I moved into an area with a higher humidity, though, I did not have as much success watering my plants.
I tried many different things to get my plants to thrive. I sprayed them with a whole array of chemicals. The hot sun definitely had an impact on the plants. I even used a magnifying glass to try to make out small details on the leaves of the plant.
Many friends of mine are huge Sirao devotees. I was blown away by how much devotion they had for this plant. There were several areas where the Sirao flowers were absolutely everywhere. It was amazing to see so many beautiful colors all throughout this large flower garden. It is a well-known fact that the Sirao flower garden is one of the most popular in the entire world. It is very rare to find one outside of its native habitat.
Having visited the area where the flower garden is located, I can certainly say that it is spectacular. Having spent so much time there, I can safely say that it is a once in a lifetime experience. You cannot help but admire the way the plant and its flowers transform the area. It truly is a work of nature.
What is really great about the Sirao flower garden is that it is very affordable. It is far cheaper than many of the other flower gardens, you may have seen. This is because you are not paying any real-estate fees. Instead of paying a big maintenance fee each month, you only need to pay a flat monthly fee. In addition, there are also many free features you will enjoy.
For example, there is a large pond with lots of ornamental ponds fish. You will also enjoy a water fountain that is placed in the center of the flower garden. There are also many trees in the area. They are placed beautifully to frame the pond. They provide shade for the flower beds and the Siraos as well.
Having lived in the area, I can honestly say that it has changed my life for the better. If I want a quiet place where I can relax, this is it. The price is also very reasonable. Best of all, my daughter and her family enjoy visiting this flower garden so much. They have even asked to move into one of the guesthouses in the area.
